Mission Statement

Overview Athletic Program

Benoit University is home to the Mustang. Our athletic objectives and goals are simple; we want all athletes to strive on the field and in the classroom. Having 100% of our student body participate in athletics, 60% males and 40% females, this institution believes in the value and benefit of being apart of an athletic team. Being apart of a team promotes instant friends, achievement and a healthy lifestyle. Our student athletes are strong, confident and encouraging young adult on and off the field. Our university holds our student athletes to high expectations because they are representatives of our institution. Our athletes are enthusiastic about not only athletic, but academics as well. They preform on and off the field being a positive influence and role model to all other students. Benoit University is in control of accepting student athletes. They are accepted on important pieces to their application such as their course load in high school and SAT scores. The average SAT score among our student-athletes at Benoit University is around 1350-1500. While student-athletes are enrolled in this institution they are also required to meet a minimum GPA of 2.8 to stay eligible to play their sport.

The purpose of college athletics is for our students to continue participating in a sport they love and to develop as an individual. This university has 10 collegiate sports in Division III NCAA, 8 men’s and 9 women’s, and numerous club and intermural sports as well.

The duty of the Central New England Conference is to promote sportsmanship among Division III student athletes. The members of the CNEC seek to establish a high quality educational experience, as well as strengthening intellectual growth. It is the expectation that each member of the conference hold true to the values of trust, respect and fair play. The purpose of the CNEC is to enhance the principles of leadership and teamwork for the student athletes. We offer a diverse variety of sports that meet the standard of Division III Athletics. The top priorities of the CNEC involve supporting healthy competition and creating an atmosphere of respect, cooperation, and courage. We strive to create opportunities for student athletes to overcome challenges and help them fulfill their unique potential. Each member of the conference and their respected student athletes will be expected to portray the values and beliefs held by the CNEC.

Team/Unit Objectives

Entertainment:

Sports have become a regular part of Benoit University’s culture and our student’s lives. Benoit University strongly believes you don’t have to participate in sports in order to enjoy them. Our university and teams strive to make every sport competition an entertaining and enjoyable experience for all our spectators. We advertise and promote each game to ensure the highest possible attendance to create a supportive and energetic atmosphere for our fans. To maintain the fan enthusiasm and involvement we conduct regular raffles, giveaways and shows during each game. All members of our teams take the role of staying positive, being respectful and playing to their best ability during the games to increase the entertainment aspect. Benoit University wants our fans to be satisfied with their experience at every game, we do so by accepting advise and feedback through our athletic website and emails.

Public Relations:

Benoit University has started to create a brand through our website and social media. Our media department is actively updating our social media accounts through Facebook, instragrm and twitter. By staying active on social media we are keeping our fans involved, satisfy their want and needs and developing dedication to our brand. Athletes wearing their Benoit University sports apparel on campus and in the community also help introduce the brand to the community and create more fans. Our university is following these 3 steps of creating a fan base, advertising and engaging fans to create Benoit University Athletics as a brand on and off campus.

Personal Growth:

Benoit University enrolls specific students on the bases of their clear desire to grow as an individual in all aspects of life. We encourage our coaches to recruit athletes who want to come to our institution to receive the education they want, not solely because of their athletic interest. If education is on the back burner for any potential athlete, they do not belong in our university. Benoit University requires all of our athletic teams and athletes to meet a minimum GPA of 2.8 and be involved in at least 2 volunteer services per season. Our university believes setting these requirements well help our athletes for life after athletics. Through volunteering our athletes will gain new experience and insight, create connects, building career options and have a sense of accomplishment.
